This week we will be hosting Deloitte at the general assembly meeting Thursday, October 4th, from 6-8:00 p.m. in room 1360. Be prepared to meet with your assigned committees right at 6:00 p.m. This event is business causal, NO JEANS OR LEGGINGS. Food will be provided from Hungry Howies.
Community Service Events
All of the community service events for the semester are posted on the website. You must sign up prior to attending. The upcoming community service events are listed as followed:
Loaves and Fishes is on October 13. For this event we will be partnering with NABA and Accounting Club to participate in a campus wide day of volunteering. All volunteer hours must be achieved through BAP volunteer events so make sure you're signing up! Tutoring
All candidates are required to complete 2 hours of tutoring each week throughout the semester. Tutoring will be held from 5:00PM - 7:00PM in Schneider Hall. Tuesday tutoring is in room 1220 and Wednesday tutoring is in room 1280.
There will be individual tutoring in the Accountancy Department Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Click here for the BAP Tutoring Orientation Handbook. Looking for more networking opportunities? Thursday, October 4, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. the Business Career Day fair takes place in the Bernhard Center.
Upcoming Professional Events
The annual lunch for alumni award recipients is on Friday, October 5th, at noon in the Dean's conference room, 2150 Schneider Hall. This is a great opportunity for students to network with successful alumni. To find out more information about alumni attending the lunch visit http://wmich.edu/business/2018awards
As a part of the homecoming festivities, the distinguished alumni award winners from the Accounting Department are holding a panel discussion with students from our major. This will take place on Friday October 5th, from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., in room 1225. The two distinguished alumni who will be recognized are Alessandro P. DiNello, President and CEO of Flagstar Bank, and Gregory T. Durant, Vice Chairman and Deputy Chief Execuative Officer of Deloitte. If you missed a BAP meeting this semester, attending one of these events will count toward a professional makeup. If you have any questions about making up an event, reach out to any E-Board member or Faculty Advisor. |
