Beta alpha Psi Requirements
The Gamma Rho Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi is always looking for new recruits. Eligibility requirements are listed below:

Application Approval - Eligibility Requirements
Exploratory & Sophomore Candidates
- Expresses interests in the majors/minors/organization.
- Banquet eligible if requirements met; perfect attendance, including social, and 8 hours service.
First Semester Candidates
- Completed 12 credit hours of higher education (at Western Michigan University or another AACSB or regionally accredited college/university).
- Expressed interest or declared a major/minor in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems
- Minimum 3.0 GPA overall
Candidates
Undergraduate Requirements
- Successfully became a first semester candidate
- Declared a major/minor in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems
- Minimum 3.0 GPA overall (or 3.25 GPA in the last 30 hours)
- Minimum 3.0 GPA in upper-level major courses (if any have been completed)
- Accepted into the MSA Program
- Minimum 3.0 GPA overall
Members (on top of Candidates' requirements)
- Active members are allotted one absence from a professional meeting per semester and members must attend community service activities each year as established by the Executive Board. Members must participate in community service activities during the semester.
- Members who commit to a certain event and fail to show without prior notification to the community service director, will be required to attend an event as approved by the Executive Board or Faculty Advisor. This event will not count towards their required community service
- Members are encouraged to volunteer as a mentor to: Exploratory Status students, Sophomore Status, First-Semester Candidate, and/or Candidate. This would include assisting the candidate by answering their questions, promoting networking and aiding them as they fulfill their candidate requirements. Members are encouraged to attend all socials but are required to attend at least one.
Dues
- Candidates (first semester): $70
- Candidates (second semester and on): $60
- Members: $60
Meetings
- All candidates must attend ALL meetings during the semester.
- Members are permitted to have one meeting absence during the semester.

Community Service Requirements
- All Candidates and Members must complete 8 hours of community service during the semester by participating in BAP-sponsored volunteer events.
- Volunteer Opportunities will be announced throughout the semester.
Committees
- All Candidates and Members must participate in a committee.
- Committees include: Analytics/Finance, BAP National/Regional Presentations, Diversity, Outreach, and Social Media and Photography.

- All Candidates and Members must attend the social event each semester.
- This occurs during a regular meeting time.
- All Candidates and Members must attend the banquet.
- Candidates who have fulfilled the requirements above will participate in the induction ceremony at banquet.
- In order to be officially inducted as members of BAP, candidates must also meet the requirement of a minimum 3.0 GPA overall and in upper-level major classes once grades are posted following the candidacy semester.
