Thank you for your flexibility with the Habitat for Humanity event this last Saturday. All of the community service events for the semester are posted on the website. You must sign up prior to attending. Upcoming events are as followed: Financial Reality Fair - Friday, November 16th 11:00am - 1:00pm Rickman House - Sunday, November 18th 3:00pm-5:00pm During the month of November, we will be collecting winter gear (hats, gloves, scarves, socks). Donated items will go to Lakeside Juvenile Center and the Detroit Gospel Mission. Collection will be on November 8th and 15th. See Maggie Blair or Felicia Ayalew for more information. All volunteer hours must be achieved through BAP volunteer events so make sure you're signing up! Becker Professional Education is looking for three student representatives for Western Michigan University. Interested students should speak to the faculty advisor, Dr. Cari Burke. Western Student Association Position
The Western Student Association (WMU's Student Government) is currently in the process of searching for a new Allocations Commission Chair. The Allocations Chair is responsible for allocating funds to all Registered Student Organizations on campus. WSA are looking for applicants with a strong background in finance and who are self-disciplined and willing to make the changes necessary to improve the RSO funding process.
The Chair holds Deliberations (where RSOs have the opportunity to present budgets for approval) one time per month and must hold 2+ office hours per week and attend weekly WSA senate and cabinet meetings. The selected person should be willing to work with the rest of WSA's cabinet to make improvements to WMUs campus and work in the best interest of all students. Ideally, the selected person would be interested in holding the position next year, however this is not a requirement. The application to apply is below. You do not need to have experience with WSA to apply! https://goo.gl/forms/naWIkKh79VYbbET73 Information about the Western Student Association can be found below: http://www.westernstudentassociation.org/funding-opportunities/allocations/ If you have any questions, contact WSA Vice President, Jessica Poling.
